Part 1~ Part 2

It's that time again for me to write and keep all of you up-to-date on events, what's been going on in my life, and what's new with Neko Press. All I can say is, life has been pretty crazy this year. What I mean by crazy is not how much wine I drank at a live art show or how cool it is to be doing all these conventions and meeting such cool folks as yourselves. All those things are fun and all, but what really seems crazy to me is that we live in a world that seems to be moving in directions I have never seen before. Our weather is off the scale due to global climate changes, people are starving because the prices of food and gas are going through the roof. Unless you're blind and live on an island out of touch with reality, it's hard not to notice how dramatically our existence is changing, pushing us into what feels like a new intellectual era. I believe that we must unite to face these challenges together to effect change or we'll all be conquered by nature's reactions to our negative actions. I feel like we need to come together and start working for the common good.

When I began to write this blog I didn't feel like it was my place to preach to the masses. But as a creator who has been given the gift of expression through art and the opportunity to show my inner thoughts in this way, I feel that I have to do my part to spread the word. Even if all we can do is be positive and treat each other with respect then we are making a difference. The world is changing and not for the better. It's up to all of us to make a difference. I believe that parents need to find the time to show love and affection toward their children and spend time with their family as a unit and take a moment to reflect on where they are in terms of meeting goals as a group rather than separately moving parts.

We must all ask ourselves: Are we moving in the direction we envisioned or are our lives flying out of control? I believe that the ways in which we communicate, all forms of communication, by and large are the foundation of many of our world's most major problems. We need to think before we speak and act and treat each other with respect no matter what creed we represent. It's important to understand our differences, but even more crucial to focus on our similarities. I believe that everyone knows where I am going with this, so I'll wrap it up: In a nut shell, take a moment and ask yourself if you are happy within the boundaries of what you can control. If not, what can you do about it? What small changes can you make today, moment by moment to create positive change for yourself and those around you? As others notice the changes in you, this will inevitably become contagious. We all matter. We all need one another. So each day that goes by, we must try to make it the best and try to treat our neighbors with kindness; the same kindness we would want back. I honestly don't believe that it would be that hard to do, especially if more of us were practicing it, and at the end of the day we might find that we have reached someone in a way that will make a difference. Please remember, we all matter. We all have an impact on what direction our world moves. Some of you might be wondering what I'm smoking, but you will be disappointed to know: not a damn thing! So if what I'm saying is a bit too much to handle, please at least think about it and sleep on it tonight. If you have made it this far into my blog, thank you for allowing me to ramble on about something that is deeply important to me. I want to thank you all for allowing Neko Press to reach 10 years and for allowing me to continue to display my art and follow my dreams. Without all of our cool and crazy fans, friends, and family members, this would have never been possible in my wildest dreams.

We have a lot of events coming up, and I hope some of you can make it to a few of them. Be sure to check out our calendar for upcoming live art shows near you. And be sure to check out our new prints as well. The show at "Feel It" had one of the best vibes this year. Not only was the crowd extremely cool, but I had a chance to meet a bunch of super-creative people as well. I want to thank you all for hanging out and chilling while I did my live art. Be sure to check out our travels page and see the photos from that event. If you missed out on the show, be sure to drop by Markalan's store. It's located at 909 E Street in San Diego, and on the web at: www.myspace.com/feelitsandiego. In addition to being a phenomenal store, this spot features some incredible works from many different artists in San Diego.

Check it out if you can; you won't be sorry you did. On a side note, we have some really cool stuff planned for the San Diego Comic Con. Be sure to check back for further updates on what will be going on at the Neko Booth. Once again thank you for your support, and make tomorrow a great day!

Peace and Love to all my friends!
